In this current lesson, we will now focus on French names of public places starting with a vowel or a silent h.

(the elementary school)
Les enfants reviennent de l’école primaire
(The kids are returning from the elementary school)
l’hôpital (masc.)
(the hospital)
Je vais à l’hôpital pour visiter un ami malade
(I am going to the hospital to visit a sick friend)
l’opéra (masc.)
(the opera)
Nous sommes allés à l’opéra vendredi dernier
(We went to the opera last Friday)
l’église (fem.)
(the church)
Cette église est en face de l’hôpital
(This church is opposite the hospital)
