FRUITS AND VEGETABLESFRENCH VOCABULARY TESTING GUIDE

 85 cards | 4 sub-topics | all 4 skills tested

INTRODUCTION

This section covers the list of French fruit and vegetable words and vocabulary. I’ve put together the most common edible items found in both categories.

Did you know that according to a 2013 study, apples, grapes and oranges were the 3 most popular fruits in France? In the category of vegetables, tomatoes ranked #1.

A word of caution: the word “raisin” in French means both “dried raisin” and “grape” in English. Also the French word “prune” means plum, while in English, “prune” means “dried plum”. These are faux amis you need to pay attention to.

Now let’s study the list of common French fruit and vegetables to expand our French vocabulary.
