CHAPTER 20 – Definition – Consonant – Consonne

consonant (une consonne) is a letter that represents a speech sound.

This sound is produced by obstructing/blocking partly or fully the breath coming out of our mouth.

To obtain a syllable, a consonant needs to be paired with a vowel such as a, e, i, o, u and y
