Affirmative (sentence) – phrase affirmative
Let's Define It!
What's an *affirmative* sentence?
Not to sound to plain, but I'll just say here that an affirmative sentence [phrase affirmative] such as "Marc aime le vin" is a sentence that positively affirms something. (Gee, thanks, Captain Obvious!)
As such, an affirmative sentence is neither negative [Marc n'aime pas le vin.] nor interrogative [Marc aime-t-il le vin?].
